Jozani Short Tours

The Jozani Short Tour is the standard public tour available inside Jozani Chwaka Bay National Park. It provides a basic introduction to the forest and an opportunity to see the famous Zanzibar Red Colobus monkeys.

This tour typically lasts between 45 minutes and 1 hour and follows the main tourist route through the forest. Visitors are combined into shared groups which may range from 20 to over 35+ participants depending on the day, season, and visitor traffic. Because of the large group sizes and limited duration, the experience is often fast-paced and allows only a brief introduction to the forest.

The Short Tour does not include a dedicated guide, extended wildlife searching, medicinal plant discoveries, or access to less-visited areas of the forest. Visitors should also expect waiting times during busy periods, and guide tips are separate included during checkout.

For travelers who want to fully experience Jozani Forest, we strongly recommend the Jozani Mid-Length Tour. With a maximum of 8 participants, a dedicated professional guide, more time in the forest, medicinal plant discoveries, and better wildlife viewing opportunities, the Mid-Length Tour provides a significantly more rewarding and memorable experience.
