Jozani Butterfly Tours

Discover one of Jozani's hidden attractions on this relaxing and family-friendly wildlife experience.

The Jozani Butterfly Tour invites you to explore a peaceful butterfly sanctuary where colorful butterflies flutter freely in a natural environment. During this guided walk, you'll learn about the incredible transformation from caterpillar to butterfly, their role in nature, and the conservation efforts that help protect these beautiful insects.

Beyond the butterflies, this experience offers the opportunity to meet several fascinating small animals native to Zanzibar.
On the Jozani Butterfly Tour, you may also see 100% chameleons, elephant shrews, giant plated lizards, and bushbabies because they are protected too. Under the guidance of experienced staff, you may even have the chance to safely interact with some of these animals and capture memorable photos.

Unlike longer hiking tours, the Butterfly Tour is short, relaxing, and suitable for almost everyone. Whether you're traveling with children, looking for a unique educational activity, or simply want to enjoy a peaceful hour surrounded by nature, this experience is a wonderful addition to your Zanzibar adventure.

Open daily throughout the week, the tour is easy to fit into your travel schedule and can also be combined with a visit to Jozani Short Tour or Jozani Middle Tour Forest for a complete wildlife experience.

If you're looking for a relaxing wildlife experience that's fun, interactive, and affordable, the Jozani Butterfly Tour is an excellent choice. It's especially popular with families, school groups, photographers, and anyone interested in learning about Zanzibar's smaller wildlife.

While the tour is shorter than our forest experiences, it offers a unique opportunity to observe butterflies up close and safely interact with some of Zanzibar's fascinating reptiles and small mammals in a peaceful natural setting.

Looking for a bigger wildlife adventure? Pair this experience with our Jozani Mid-Length Tour to explore the forest, spot the famous Red Colobus monkeys, discover medicinal plants, and enjoy a more complete journey through Zanzibar's most important natural reserve. Together, these two tours create the perfect combination of education, wildlife, and unforgettable memories.
